Most Portland dog daycares run open play: a large room, many dogs, and a staff member watching. For a socially confident dog that works. For a reactive dog it is a guaranteed bad day, because there is no way to stay under threshold in a room full of unpredictable movement. This is why so many reactive dogs get rejected at evaluation.
Our Socialization and Social Rehabilitation program is $90 per session and exists for exactly those dogs: for dogs who need support building healthy social skills and confidence around dogs, people, and the world around them.
Threshold is the distance at which your dog can notice another dog without reacting. Everything we do happens inside that distance. A certified trainer reads your dog's body language in real time and adjusts before the reaction, not after it, which is how new and calmer associations actually form.
Many families combine this with Kylie's Angels at $90 per session for shy and fearful dogs, support for anxious dogs, private training at $125 in-facility or $145 in-home, or boarding for reactive and bite-risk dogs. Boarding Prep at $90 per session builds cabin comfort before a first overnight stay.
Our trainers include a Victoria Stilwell Academy certified trainer, an IAABC accredited trainer holding a Master's in Applied Behavior Analysis, and CATCH Academy and PST-CI certified trainers. Every trainer completes six continuing education credits per month and all other staff complete four.
We are at 5404 SE 72nd Ave in the Mt. Scott-Arleta neighborhood of SE Portland, just off Powell Boulevard and minutes from I-205. Families drive to us from across the metro because so few facilities will take a reactive dog at all.

Reactivity, lunging, barking, or overwhelm around other dogs, is one of the most common reasons Portland dogs get turned away from daycare. OutWoof Bound's day program is built specifically for these dogs. Rather than throwing a reactive dog into a group and hoping for the best, we use structured, individualized training and carefully managed exposure to build real social skills.
Our Socialization and Social Rehabilitation program is $90 per session and focuses on communication, emotional regulation, and confidence. A certified trainer guides every interaction, controlling distance and difficulty so your dog succeeds instead of rehearsing the reactive behavior. Over time, many dogs who could never handle a normal daycare learn to feel calm and capable.
Reactivity is not aggression, and it is not a dog being bad. It is an emotional response, usually rooted in fear, frustration, or overexcitement, that spills over when a dog cannot cope with what is in front of them. A reactive dog is not choosing to lunge and bark; they are overwhelmed. Understanding that difference is the first step, and it is why punishment-based approaches so often make reactivity worse.
Our day program changes the underlying emotion, not just the surface behavior. By keeping your dog under threshold, the distance at which they can notice another dog without reacting, we help them build new, calmer associations. Sessions are always led by a certified trainer who reads your dog's body language and adjusts in real time. Progress compounds: dogs who start out unable to be within sight of another dog often work up to calm, controlled proximity over a series of sessions.
Success is built one managed step at a time.
